This morning the boys and I had a really nice talk on the couch in their playroom. I asked them what Christmas is about (for the first time since last year) and they knew!! Caden said, "It's about Jesus' birthday!" Earlier in the morning, Caden and Luke were arguing because Caden had told Luke that since it was his birthday on Saturday, he would get more presents than Luke. Luke disagreed so they came to me for the answer. It was a perfect reminder later when we talked about Jesus' birthday! Who should be getting the presents?? They agreed Jesus should be getting the most presents, but how do we do that? We're all going to think about it today and talk tonight to see what they've come up with that they can "give" Jesus for His birthday. Should be interesting.
We ended our talk this morning with the question - What are you really thankful for today?
Luke - "I'm thankful for my brudder cuz I wike to pway wif him."
Caden - "I'm thankful for my family because they are nice and do nice things for me."
Mommy - "I'm thankful that we are God's children and that He loves us."
