Walking for Briley

We have a super sweet family here in Seymour that has suffered tragedy after tragedy recently.  Their five year old, Briley, was diagnosed with leukemia about a year and a half ago.  Treatments are hard but she's so strong and has done great.  Then a couple of weeks ago, Briley, her grandma and brother, were in a horrible wreck, and her grandma was killed.  Even worse, Briley's mom witnessed the accident as it happened, and Briley's dad was the EMT that responded to the call.  Briley broke both legs and fractured her pelvis.  Complications from the leukemia made everything more difficult.  The added medical expenses on top of everything else is more than they should have to think about.

One of my favorite things about the community we live in is how they have taken care of this family from the start.  Briley's mom is one of the kindergarten teachers here, and her co-workers are so supportive and generous.  The kids at school were really wanting to do something to help, so the first grade teachers organized a walk to raise money for CureSearch.

Reese and Maxx and I went up to the track to walk with Luke and his friends...

It always makes me feel so good to see how Luke takes care of her.

Talon was really glad to see Reese too!
