David has been playing tennis with Macie Morris this year, and she made it to the State Finals in Austin. We were very excited to get to go and support her!
We were also excited to stop on the way into Austin and have dinner with friends! Lori was my very best friend through middle school and high school. She and Marc (another high school friend!) have a sweet daughter, Addie.
Addie and Reese had a pretty good time playing together!
It was so good to see my sweet friend and catch up.
Then it was on to Austin for the tournament. Mrs. Beverly and Mrs. Gina got shirts for us - you could spot Macie's fans from a mile away!
To be honest, I've never really gotten into tennis before. I've never understood the rules and scoring. (It might also have something to do with a certain 8 year old that could beat me when I was babysitting her over the summer back in high school.) But knowing someone who was playing, and genuinely wanting her to win, was really exciting!
She played hard, and won gold in the State Tournament!
The boys started learning to play a couple of months ago, and I see lots of tennis in our future!
We'll be encouraging this little munchkin if she want to play too - Macie will be attending Texas Tech on a full scholarship! We were told girls' sporting scholarships are much more widely available - maybe she'll want to play one day too!
