On our way, we decided it would be fun to keep a tally of "How much longer?/Are we there yet?" - there were 13
"I'm hungry/thirsty!" - there were 7
"I need to go to the bathroom!" - there were zero!! No really! It was amazing!
Only one movie and one stop (at a McDonald's where the playground was closed! - bummer!)
Funniest site on the way - a laundromat in Snyder called the "Wash Happenin'!" We also liked the "No Whiner Diner" in Carlsbad, though we didn't eat there.
The hotel was slightly disappointing since the indoor heated pool wasn't working. (The boys did "swim" in the hot tub though.)
The boys saw their first mountains!! Exciting!
The next morning we were off to the caverns! Here's Luke being a guide in the cave...
The 3 boys did the "Palace Tour" but Reese wasn't old enough to go along, so she and Mommy hung out in the "Big Room" for a while.
This area of the caves was called "Fairyland" so I took her picture by the sign
The boys enjoyed the caves, but not as much as we had hoped - they were in desperate need of a restroom on the tour (there wasn't one) so they were relieved for it to end. Back outside, there was a great view!
It was a great start to our vacation! Then we were on to Glorietta and Santa Fe!
