Santa Fe, NM

These vacation posts are as much (or more) for me, so I can remember what all we did, as they are for our friends and family who care to catch up on what's been going on with us - please be patient with the all of the details.

We spent one afternoon and 3 evenings in Santa Fe while staying in Glorieta. It was wonderful! We went to the Santa Fe Children's Museum and stayed for hours. It was relatively small, but so nicely put together and the boys had a blast!

There was a triangular tunnel and inside was all mirrored - Reese LOVED it!

Giving herself kisses

A table full of magnetized nuts and bolts and washers - nice for building magnetic creations

There was an old tire with a giant bubble wand that made a bubble around you as you stood in the middle and pulled a rope that lifted it out of the bubble juice!

Luke enjoyed some time playing in the water

There was a table suspended from the ceiling on cables, and an arm that extended over the table that held a marker. You choose a color, start the table to rocking, and have a really neat picture when the table stops moving.

Reese's first experience with a hard plastic doll - she loved it! She held it, kissed it, loved it!

There was also a chair that the kids could sit in and lift themselves up with a rope on a pulley

You know the old toy made of plastic pins that you could mash your face or hands into and see how you looked on the other side...here's the Mega version

Teeter-totter type boat

The boys painted some masterpieces,

touched/watched the snake named Peaches,

teeter-tottered,

climbed,

made more bubbles,

and climbed in the tower outside

The outside of the museum was really neat too - musical instruments to play made out of recyclables, a compost area, tires to climb on, hollowed out tree to play in - all kinds of cool stuff. It was definitely worth the money!

After the museum we were pretty starving, so we headed to Cici and Bode's favorite pizza place - the Upper Crust Pizza. It is kind of a hole in the wall, but the pizza was fantastic, and it was so nice to sit on their patio and relax and talk - a great memory!

When we arrived at Glorieta and found out that their coffee shop/cafeteria/any source of food was closed for the week, David asked where they would recommend eating. Harry's Roadhouse. Really? We expected a greasy hamburger joint. We were pleasantly surprised. More like shocked. It was Really Really GOOD! Great menu, lots of variety, very eclectic, and the desserts - all homemade - were fantastic! I had the peanut butter chocolate ice cream sandwich - OH WOW. We went there for dinner the last night we were in Glorieta, and wished we could have gone several more times!

Our other meal was at Pasqual's - very delicious also - all organic, very healthy, nice staff - all good!

We were sad to leave New Mexico, but thrilled to be heading to Denver to see Aunt Dee!!!! Check back soon for our Colorado post!
