The Tooth Fairy

About 6 months ago, Caden tripped at church and fell into a rocking chair - face first.  There was a little blood from around his front teeth and one of them was knocked a little bit loose.  A few weeks later you couldn't really wiggle it any more, so we all but forgot about it.

Fast forward about 4 months and we noticed a white spot about the size of a mosquito bite on Caden's gums over his tooth that had been bumped.  It would grow and shrink in size and we weren't sure what to think about it.  We went to a dentist in Wichita Falls that scared.me.to.death.  She explained it was an infection caused by trauma, and "don't be alarmed but infection like this can kill you if not taken care of."  She insisted he needed 2 teeth extracted and also said he needed a root canal on another tooth that had a cavity.  We decided to get a second opinion.

Dr. Sandy McDougal is a pediatric dentist in Plano and thankfully she takes our insurance!  She told us that the infection was not anything to stress out about and that he only needed one tooth extracted and did not need a root canal.  To say that she is my hero is putting it lightly.  SO, without further ado - the pictures...

Another of Caden's teeth (in the back) had to be extracted too - bless his heart - he has some deep crevices in his teeth.  They put a spacer in to hold it's place until the permanent tooth makes it's appearance in a few years.

I just LOVE his smile!!

And just for fun - Luke's and Reese's smiles too!

The tooth fairy came and left a $2 bill for each tooth, so there was much excitement the next morning.  Caden was excited because he was $4 richer, and Luke was excited because he was just sure the Tooth Fairy wasn't real, but the money was the proof he needed to believe!

Each of the boys have 2 more loose teeth, so the Tooth Fairy made need help keeping an eye out for those $2 bills!!
