Week in McKinney!

David had a week of class in Abilene, followed by a week of class in Dallas. We headed to McKinney for the second week and the kids and I had a week of fun while David was at school! The boys went to a local VBS every morning, which was wonderful, then we picked them up, had lunch, and had fun every afternoon! It was a fabulous week!

We got to spend the day with David's family on Wednesday - it was so nice to see them!!
Grandpa and Reese had some good snuggling time

and having fun with Reese

Grandmother taught Luke how to use a knife to cut his cantaloupe!

Grandma watched the boys do a Cars puzzle

We also got to spend some time with Amadeo - Cici and Bode's friend from Italy. I love to hear him talk, especially about the kids...He called Luke "an actor" since he was a tiny baby (and if you don't know Luke - that's very accurate!). He calls Caden and Luke "the Bandits" (I love that!). I couldn't wait to hear what he thought of Reese. His words - "She is a Masterpiece!" Amadeo sure knows how to make a mom proud! :)

Thursday was our last full day, so we headed to the "Beach" - it was so fun!! The pool looks more like a lake and has sand all the way around it for building castles (or volcanos) and there's an area with a slide and water spraying from every direction - it was a blast!

This sand doesn't taste so good!

Friday was the last day of VBS so we went to watch the closing ceremonies where the kids sang and danced to the songs they had learned during the week. In case you didn't know, my kids don't sing and dance to songs - they look at kids who are singing and dancing like they are weird. So I was not surprised to see this upon arrival...

When their favorite song from the week played, however, I was delighted to see this! (YES! This is Luke DANCING!)

AND Caden danced too!!

Reese joined in even though she hadn't learned the moves!

Luke was the line leader on the way back to his class - his teacher was so sweet! He had SUCH a good time!

Caden had a great time too - and they are both so proud of their new shirts!

We got to have lunch at Jason's Deli with our sweet friend Maureen! I was thrilled, and the boys had mostly nice manners and even said, "It's nice to meet you." !!! Yay!

Our week flew by and was so much fun!! We had the greatest time, and look forward to next summer when we get to do it all again! Thanks, Cici and Bode, for a wonderful week!
