Reese's zebra print outfit made by Grandmother plus bow made by me! :)
Art project at the Grace Museum
Reese had fun at the Grace too!
First purchase from the ice cream truck this summer!
More artwork from Luke - isn't he writing his name well?! I love his E's!
Oh wait, yeah, that's the couch in their playroom - he's in huge trouble...
Caden's in trouble too - here he is cleaning the crayon he chose to color on the french doors leading into their playroom. Maybe crayons will need to be placed under lock and key!
What kills me about this picture is the shoes he has on - these are size 13 tennis shoes that Miss Amie got him before he was a year old. At the time, they were massive and I couldn't imagine those giant things ever going on my precious baby's feet! He's so excited to wear them, especially since he has learned to tie his shoes!!
Sunday clothes
Early summer was pretty busy, but it was finally time for our first trip to the swim club. The boys were ecstatic and Reese was adorable
Tragically, we arrived at the pool at 10 and after waiting about 10 minutes for the gate to open, another family came over and told us they made some calls and found out it wasn't opening that day. Many tears later, we headed to WalMart to get a pool, then realized there's no way we can get one of any significant size in our minivan. More tears. We drove to the YMCA to pay $17 to swim, only to find that their pool hours don't start til 1. There was no way the boys could wait 2 more hours. So we hooked up with our friends, the Banks, and trekked out to the zoo.
The Abilene Zoo is now host to a beautiful white tiger. (I know the photo quality is amazing - watch out Nat'l Geographic!)
While we were there, Reese held her own cup for the first time. Yes, she's nine months old, but she's never even acted interested in holding it before, and all of the sudden she picked it up!
Our 9th anniversary fell while David was in school, and even though it fell on a Wednesday, he had the night off for school, and was able to get out of school to take me (and Reese) out to dinner! Miss Kacie kept the boys and they had a blast, Reese got her own bowl full of cheese and crackers and two-fisted her way to the bottom!
I'm so thankful for the blessing it is to be married to my wonderful husband for the last 9 years!!
We did finally make it to the pool!
She's got a ring that has her name on it that attaches to her pacifier holder - I couldn't believe she had it turned exactly right to see her name - and of course, she's smiling!
Swimming really wears a girl out!
Lowes building project - the boys built putting greens!
We went to our friend Brendan's Swim Party on Saturday afternoon - it was a little warm...
...but the boys were stoked about going!
In other news, Caden gave flowers to a lady at church in front of everyone on a Sunday morning, but it took some bribing, so now he gets to pick out a new toy. I'm hoping he forgets about the Rocket Fishing Rod for $29.95 plus $11.99 shipping and handling that he saw an infomercial for and REALLY wants! (I'm hoping he forgets about it for his sake, he's not getting it, even if he remembers it!)
Poor accident prone Luke - he's fallen 3 times (hitting his head each time) since his tubes were put in, but at his appt on Wednesday, Dr Dyer said he looked great!
Reese is teething - she has 4 new teeth! Her pointy ones on top started coming in 2 days before her middle ones on top, so I was slightly concerned we'd have a vampire baby for a while, and was hopeful about getting her a spot in the Twilight series, but I guess that won't work now.
My new favorite quote -
Caden - "Can I have some more pork, please?"
Luke - "What's pork?"
Caden - "It's the kind of chicken we're eating tonight!"
