Our Firstborn Turns SIX!! (and gets a gun!)

Just over 6 years ago, David and I discussed all the things we'd like in life for this little boy who would shortly be gracing us with his presence. David thought he'd be ready for his first BB gun at around 3 or 4...I was thinking more like 10. We compromised way back then, agreeing that at 6, he would get his first BB gun.

Well those six years flew by.

My sweet Caden Joe tested for his green belt in Tae Kwon Doe the day before his 6th birthday, then came home and opened a very big, very special present.

It's an official Red Rider.

And something like 15 million BBs.

Caden and his Daddy headed to the back yard to discuss safety, rules, more safety, etc. then start on some target practice.

They thought it would be best for Luke to be inside while Caden got schooled on everything so he would pay close attention and focus. So Luke did a new Christmas puzzle (that I won! Yay!).

He's been doing puzzles a LOT lately and is really good at them. He is very determined and it's about the quietest he's ever been in his life while he's working on them.

Proudly completed the whole puzzle by himself!!

Then we headed outside to see how the birthday boy was doing. He showed us the bullseye he hit on the pizza box. He hit the target every time and on his 5th shot hit right in the center.

His daddy was proud.

He's doing great with it and is looking forward to taking it out in the country where he'll be able to practice more.
