We started with a skit on a pirate ship - it was interesting!
Next was a fun ride that went up and down and in a circle. Luke wasn't tall enough to ride it alone, so I rode it with him. I'm so glad I did so we could talk and distract him from the fact that he hated it and was trying not to be sick. When we got off, he said, "Mommy, I tried really hard to be brave, but I didn't really like it."
Next was a roller coaster - Grandmother rode with Luke this time. You could see his white knuckles from where we were watching!
Reese hung out with Grandpa Joe while we waited for the boys to finish their rides.
Next, the bumper cars!
Next, we saw the super heroes!
I've never before seen a Flash like this! :)
Reese talked with Hawk Girl
and she talked with the Flash (Seriously, this guy does NOT look very speedy!)
Then we met some police officers and got their trading cards
The Helping Hands Farm was the best part - the kids got grain to "feed the animals" and collect items at each stop...
At the end, the kids sold their wares for a buck that they could then use to purchase their choice of snacks from the general store. It was awesome and they loved it!
Time for CORN DOGS!!!
The boys enjoyed their first Push-Ups!
Petting Zoo
Cotton Candy
Fried Moon Pie - I know it sounds weird- I LOVED it!!
Reese needed to cool her feet
The kids and BIG TEX
My 3 favorite boys
One giant ferris wheel - Caden wanted to ride it, so David rode with him. Luke was ready for smaller, tamer rides
Reese FINALLY went to sleep
Luke found a couple of rides that were more his speed...
Caden thought they looked good when he got off the the ferris wheel, so they both rode them again.
Big Tex's Sand Box was our final stop at the fair. We're so glad we went and so glad Grandmother and Grandpa Joe were able to join us! It was great to visit with them and to have the extra help with the kiddos!
About the time we left the parking lot...
From Fair Park, we headed to the Purple Cow in Ft Worth to meet Miss Jami and Mr Ken and sweet Sophie! We enjoyed visiting over dinner and some delicious ice cream!
Miss Jami is expecting a new little PumpKen soon! We can't wait! She and Mr Ken are awesome friends and fantastic parents. We love sweet Sophie and Reese loved her too!
Luke summed up our day well as we left the Purple Cow to return to Abilene. "Are we going home now?" us - yes! "That was so much fun! We had the most fun day! We didn't do anything that wasn't fun all day!!! Thank you so much for bringing us here!!" It was wonderful.
