Star Wars Party

Caden turned 5 on December 6th. He wanted to celebrate with a Star Wars party (interesting choice as he's never seen any of the movies, but they have light sabers so it doesn't matter - it's awesome!).

I had an idea about making a light saber cake out of mini-loaf pans (7 of them!) and it turned out great - much better than a store-bought cake! Our sweet friend from church, Miss Kathy, used to be a cake decorator. She came over to help me, and I was so thankful! It would have looked a lot different if she hadn't shared her expertise!

Is this an awesome cake or what!?!

The birthday boy by his cake and goodies! The Darth Vader head buckets (on clearance after halloween) made great goodie bags for the kids!

Grando and Necie were able to come for the party - they brought Caden a BatCave!!! The boys have really enjoyed playing with it!

The party guests had fun playing with it too!

The snacks for the party were pretty cool - Wookiee Cookies, Lightsaber Snackers, and Yoda Soda...

The happy party-ers!

Grando and Necie took care of Reese during the party

An asteroid/meteor shower hit the front yard and the kids ran to collect their loot! I wrapped up their party favors in foil and put colored star stickers on them and each kiddo looked for their color to collect all their goodies. It was pretty fun!

Time for presents!

Kung Fu Panda!?!?! Yes!!!!!!

Caden got a rocket/space ship builder toy from Mommy and Daddy - he loves it!

He had a huge, fabulous day and slept great that night! We're so proud of our little 5 year old, and can't believe it's been 5 years since he made his first appearance into the world! They've been a great 5 years!
